Nigerian football sensation Victor Osimhen was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of Galatasaray fans, who eagerly waited late into the night to catch a glimpse of their new star. The striker’s move to the Turkish club marks a significant turn in his career after a series of transfer speculations.
Osimhen completed a one-year loan move to Galatasaray after the club reached a mutual agreement with his Italian side, Napoli. This move comes after unsuccessful attempts to secure transfers to either Al Ahli or Chelsea, coupled with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Napoli, which would have left Osimhen sidelined for four months without competitive football.
The deal, which does not include any buy option or obligation clause, is seen as a fresh start for Osimhen, who was recently named African Footballer of the Year. The 25-year-old accepted the loan offer for a fee reported to be around €9 to €10 million. Additionally, Osimhen negotiated for his release clause at Napoli to be reduced from €130 million to €75 million, with a break clause in January should any top clubs express interest in signing him permanently.
Upon his arrival in Turkey, Osimhen joined the Galatasaray fans in celebration, with the official unveiling expected to follow soon. The striker’s presence is highly anticipated as he begins this new chapter with the Turkish Super Lig champions.
