‘Atiku’s Son Infected With Coronavirus Refused To Self-Isolate, Mingled With People At Mosque, Lounge’

A Nigerian twitter user has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of hypocrisy after he revealed the details of his son who tested positive for the Coronavirus pandemic.

The twitter user (@WatchingYall) claimed that Atiku’s son refused to follow the directives given to anyone who just returned from high risks countries to self-isolate for 14 days.

According the user, Atiku’s son was forced to the hospital by the police after he had first visited ‘PLAY LOUNGE WUSE 2 Abuja on Friday and also observing the Juma’at service that same day.

Atiku Abubakar had earlier stated that his son “tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real”

Replying to Atku’s tweet, the twitter user with the username @WatchingYall said:

“But your son knew he was sick when he got into the country and refused to self isolate for 10 days. He went places and mingled with people. He was forced to the hospital by the police. After 36 hours in the hospital and knowing it is no longer hidden, then you now tweeted this

Your son was also at PLAY LOUNGE WUSE 2 Abuja. on Friday clubbing with his friends and wife. This is why they have now shutdown. Anyone who was at Play Lounge on friday need to contact @NCDCgov immediately. Abuja might just be in a bigger trouble than we know.

Your son was also at Juma’at that same friday. I know people are hailing you for coming out but you have not been forthright with Nigerians. Your son REFUSED to self Isolate as required by the @Fmohnigeria and the @NCDCgov for anyone coming back into country.

It took residents of his estate to call the police who in conjunction with the @NCDCgov forcefully came to evacuate your son to Gwagwalda after more than 10 days of his return to Nigeria and probably has infected 100s of people. Your fake show of statesmanship is IRRESPONSIBLE”
