The trial of a BRT driver, Andrew Nice Omininikoron, who was arrested for the alleged rape and murder of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Bamise Ayanwola, has commenced before a Lagos High Court sitting in Tafa Balewa Square.
The trial commenced after Omininikoron was re-arraigned on a five-count charge before Justice Sherifat Sonaike.
The Attorney General of Lagos State, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) led the prosecution team in the trial of the BRT driver who allegedly raped and murdered a 22-year-old fashion designer, Ayanwola on February 26. 2022
The suspect was also charged for the alleged rape of one Maryjane Ozezulu sometime in November 2021.
He pleaded not guilty to all the five-count charges.
The state government earlier turned down the request of the Ayanwola family’s counsel, Adesina Ogunlana, for fiat to prosecute the case on its behalf.
