Kano Governor, Ganduje, Picks APC Senatorial Form

Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has picked the senatorial form of the All Progressives Congress in Kano.

The governor will jostle for the APC Kano north senatorial district against the incumbent senator, Barau Jibrin who has also picked the nomination form.

Recall that Ganduje endorsed his deputy, Nasiru Gawuna, to succeed him as Kano state governor while Murtala Garo, former commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, was reportedly selected to be Gawuna’s running mate in the 2023 governorship election.

The state’s assembly former speaker, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, however dumped the ruling party ostensibly in the displeasure of the stakeholder’s consensus arrangement.

Ganduje was deputy to Rabiu Kwankwaso from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015.
