Popular Nigerian highlife musician, Victor Olaiya is dead.

OduNews confirmed the death of the veteran on Wednesday,, February 12, 2020.

Victor Olaiya died at the age of 89 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

The deceased, who celebrated his birthday last December, was confirmed dead today by the Managing Director of Evergreen Music Company Ltd., Bimbo Esho.

Victor Olaiya is notable for hit songs like “Baby Jowo” and “Omo Pupa”.

In 2013,  Olaiya did a remix of “Baby Jowo” with Afro-pop legend, 2face Idibia in 2013.
