The death toll from the dreaded illness has continued to rise

A Chinese filmmaker and his family are the latest victims of the deadly coronavirus.

Chang Kai and his family died in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak. He was a film director and external communications officer at Hubec Film Studio subsidiary.

Chang’s death occurred on February 14, 2020, and it was revealed in a statement by the studio who revealed that the virus (now called COVID -19) was the cause.

It was reported in the Chinese media that Chang’s parents were infected and died one after another, leading to him and his sister contracting the disease as well.

Chang and his sibling looked after their parents; his sister died hours after him. The wife of the filmmaker is still alive but is in the intensive care unit, battling the virus.
