Macaulay Culkin broke into the limelight with the 1990 movie HOME ALONE

Macaulay Culkin has finally spoken on his close relationship with late pop star Michael Jackson.

Culkin shot to superstardom with the 1990 comedy film Home Alone, playing the role of a boy who outwits a pair of thieves when he is left behind during the holidays.

Home Alone spawned several sequels and Culkin became a certified child star but he took a break from acting in 1994, returning to the screen in 2003 with a guest appearance on the TV show Will and Grace.

As a child, he also starred in Michael Jackson’s music video for Black and White, becoming close friends with him.

The former child star spoke with Esquire in an interview where he maintained that he never saw the late King of Pop do anything inappropriate.

I’m gonna begin with the line — it’s not a line, it’s the truth — he never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything. And especially at this flashpoint in time, I’d have no reason to hold anything back. The guy has passed on. If anything–I’m not gonna say it would be stylish or anything like that–but right now is a good time to speak up. And if I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it. But no, I never saw anything; he never did anything.Macualay Culkin

Jackson was charged with intoxicating and molesting a 13-year-old boy in 2005 but was later acquitted. Culkin had defended him during the trial and that had been the last time he had seen the singer before his death in 2009.

Speaking further during the interview, the Home Alone star stated:

I played with some fire, I guess is the best way to put it. At the same time, I’ve never been to rehab or anything like that. I’ve never had to clean out that way. There were certain times when I had to catch myself, once or twice… I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t had drugs in my life at some point or another.
