Tyler Perry Caters For The Elderly Amid COVID-19 Crisis

Perry picked up the tab at 29 grocery stores in the Louisiana and Atlanta areas yesterday, April 2020 during the time reserved for the elderly and high-risk customers.

E! News reports that the ‘Madea’ star teamed up with Winn-Dixie to provide food and essential items to the elderly and high-risk shoppers in Louisiana who have suffered the most impact of the coronavirus.

According to the report, Perry also paid the grocery bill for those shopping at 44 Atlanta area Krogers stores at the time.

The supermarket applauded the actor and expressed gratitude for giving back to the community on Twitter, writing:

“@tylerperry paid it forward and purchased groceries for nearly 3,000 senior shoppers today at Krogers stores across Atlanta.

You can see how much this means by the look on their faces. Thank you, Tyler, for your generosity!”

Felix Turner, manager of corporate affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, said:

“We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic.”
