Gerard Butler To Play Lead Role In Action Thriller ‘The Plane’

Gerard Butler has signed on to star in The Plane, an action thriller from Di Bonaventure Pictures and MadRiver Pictures.

The script for the upcoming film is written by Charles Cumming and J. P. Davis and is based on the book by Cumming. It will begin shooting next year.

The Plane is a real-time action thriller that focuses on Ray Torrance (Butler), a pilot who after landing his damaged aircraft in a war zone, finds himself caught in the agendas of different militias who want to take the plane and its passengers hostage.

As a worldwide search for the plane commences, Ray must keep his passengers safe until help arrives.

The plot details match Butler’s recent movie roles as he has proven himself to be a genuine action star and audiences will want to see something other than the usually stereotyped protagonist.
