Nigeria’s very own music sensation Burna Boy has been honored by the New York Times as his song Anybody made it to their 54 Best Songs of 2019.
The song is part of the artiste’s critically-acclaimed album African Giant and occupies the number three spot, with Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You and FKA Twigs’ Cellophane taking the first and second positions.
African Giant got a Grammy nomination this December with its selection in the Best World Music Category, a fact which further cements his status as one of Africa’s most prominent music artists.
The singer’s latest album features songs that range from themes of love to the struggles of the common man, and the need to unite and fight for a better Nigeria.
