Nigerian music stars, Wizkid, Davido and Tiwa Savage criticised the Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly () Church for featuring them in an advert of the Church without their knowledge.

The advert, which was aimed at promoting  the Church’s programme tagged 12 Days of Glory, has seen the artistes distance themselves from it.

On Davido’s path, he disclosed that he only made the video for a child who is a fan but claims the video was edited to look like an advert for the Church.

Wizkid was however more aggressive in responding to claims that he endorsed the church through the advert. He said “Starboy no dey endorse no Pastor or church o! Ogun kill u fake pastors!”

Tiwa Savage also described the video as a result of Fraud. She claimed she was ‘fraudulently approached’ without an idea that the video would be used as an advert.

She said  “it has been brought to my attention that there is a viral video which includes me advertising an upcoming COZA event. I want to state that I have nothing to do with the church and certainly do not endorse their events. I’m extremely disappointed that I was fraudulently approached to simply comment on how good God has been to me and it has been wrongly edited to use my image to create an advert to deceived people. COZA this is wrong!! I will be taking action if this not immediately retracted.”

However, Elizabeth Omale, the lady in the video with her daughter has officially apologized for the confusion and misrepresentation the visual caused, stating that ” The video was in no way intended to be an official ad from the church”. Read her post below:

Recall that COZA’s head pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, has been on the lips of many in recent time over rape allegations levelled against him by celebrity photographer, Busola Dakolo.
