Amber Heard and Johnny Depp split in 2016

Many dismissed Johnny Depp’s claims of being physically assaulted by Amber Heard when they were married as made up, but recent events have proved that the actor was telling the truth.

When the celebrity decided to split in 2016, both sides were engaged in a civil court dispute over allegations of domestic abuse and defamation, and in 2019 Johnny had filed a lawsuit against Amber for writing a piece where she claimed she was an abuse survivor.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor had revealed that the Aquaman actress hurled heavy objects and other items at him as Heard had accused him of hitting her constantly in their 18-month marriage.

It seems Johnny is being vindicated as he stands on his claims of being the one physically attacked as new audio recordings in which the actress admits to violence has surfaced online.

According to a report by USA Today, the audio clip was obtained by The Daily Mail which confirmed that it was genuine and was recorded in 2015.

In the clip, the former couple argues over whether or not the physical assault was just punching or an open-handed slap as Amber is heard saying, “I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you.”

Johnny states that he doesn’t want a divorce and a separation but they would have to call it off if things continued to get physical.

Heard then goes on to say that she can’t promise to be perfect, adding that she can’t promise to not get physical again. She discloses that sometimes she just gets mad.

Johnny’s attorney Adam Waldman confirmed that the recording is a real conversation between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in which they talk about how she hurt him one evening.

The attorney pointed out that the tape reveals a pattern of abuse that any victim would recognize. He said it was a repeated abuse against his client, adding that Heard’s claims were part of a plan to tarnish his reputation.
