The sequel to Doctor Strange is reportedly looking for a female actress to play the role many believe to be the sorceress Clea.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will find Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) continue his noble duty of protecting the world from mystic forces and he will gain allies and enemies along the way.

With characters like Wong () and Baron Mordo () returning, the sequel is shaping up to be the most significant film in ’s Phase Four roster.

A major addition to the impressive characters is expected to be seen as The Illuminerdi reports that Marvel Studios is looking to cast a female actress for a role assumed to be Clea.

Marvel’s search is for an actress in her late 20s to early 40s and the description includes “leading lady” attributes. These do not officially confirm the character to be Clea but her history in the comics puts her forward as the most likely choice.

Introduced in Marvel Comics in Strange Tales #126 (1964), Clea is the daughter of Umar and the niece of Dormammu who meets Doctor Strange in the Dark Dimension.

Clea and Strange end up working together and eventually become romantically involved. This love story being featured in the sequel could worth a shot as Strange doesn’t have a love life to speak of.

Besides being a love interest, Clea could prove to be a useful and powerful ally in the fight against the ever-growing forces of evil which Strange and his colleagues will face.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will come to movie cinemas on May 7, 2021.
