‘The Matrix 4’: Young Morpheus Actor Commences Training [VIDEO]
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II featured in AQUAMAN as a secondary antagonist

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who will play a younger version of Morpheus in the upcoming sequel has begun training for the part.

Abdul-Mateen is notable for playing the secondary antagonist in Aquaman and was cast to play the charismatic Morpheus (originally portrayed by Lawrence Fishburne).

At this point, little is known about the plot of the film and Fishburne hasn’t spoken about being a part of the production or not. What fans can guess is that the past may be revisited or time travel could play a vital part.

Abdul-Mateen shared a video of his workout session on Instagram and he already looks ripped and chiseled as he is seen performing rigorous routines to get in shape.

Keanu Reeves who has read the script recently said that it is very ambitious. One would expect nothing less from a franchise that redefined the science-fiction genre and introduced never-before-seen action sequences and the famous bullet effect.

The Matrix 4 comes from Village Roadshow Pictures with Lana Wachowski returning as director. It is scheduled for release on May 21, 2021.
