Hollywood actor Christian Bale is reportedly in negotiations to join Taika Waititi’s upcoming Marvel superhero sequel Thor: Love and Thunder.
Bale is known for getting deep into the characters he portrays, often going through extreme physical transformations to play remarkable individuals.
Variety has confirmed the update first reported by Collider but it remains unclear what part the Ford V Ferrari actor will play.
Scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 5, 2021, Thor: Love and Thunder will feature the return of actress Natalie Portman who was notably absent from Thor: Ragnarok and Tessa Thompson will reprise her role of Valkyrie.
Portman’s Jane Foster will assume the female version of Thor as she takes up his magical hammer Mjolnir, a storyline taken from the comics.
Bale may be cast in the role of an antagonist and if that becomes the case, then the Asgardian hero (played by Chris Hemsworth) is in for a rough time as we expect nothing less than the real deal from Bale anytime.
The movie’s director, Taika Waititi has teased fans about the film being bigger than its predecessors. Now that is something we look forward to playing out when it arrives.
The filmmaker is also set to give voice to the alien character of Korg in the upcoming movie which will see Thor following a path of his own, separate from Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the rest of the Guardians.
