Liam Neeson Reveals Why He Will No Longer Appear In Superhero Movies

If you’ve been wondering why veteran actor Liam Neeson hasn’t been seen lately in any movie of the superhero genre, then your answer is right here.

The devilishly handsome actor who rose to fame starring in Schindler’s List (1986) has been proving himself in the action genre and doesn’t intend to feature in any superhero films.

Neeson was among the cast of the Christopher Nolan superhero movie Batman Begins (2005), where he played the charismatic villain Ra’s al Ghul.

He also appeared in the space epic saga Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (1999), portraying the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

These days, Neeson isn’t interested in anything that would make him train extensively in the gym to play someone with a suit and abilities.

In a report, Entertainment Tonight, the 6 foot, 4 inches tall thespian was quoted as saying:

I’m really not a huge fan of the genre. I think it’s Hollywood with all the bells and whistles and the technical achievements and stuff — which I admire — but I have no desire to go into the gym for three hours.

Neeson further explained himself more:

I admire the actors and I know some of the actors who do it — and do it fantastically. It’s just not my genre, it really isn’t. The first Star Wars, I was in that, that was 22 years ago, and I enjoyed that, because it was novel and that was new. I was acting to tennis balls, which were ultimately going to be little fuzzy furry creatures and stuff. That was interesting, acting-wise, to try and make that seem real, but that was the last. It’s quite exhausting.
