‘Free Guy’, a movie more in the territory of a video game action comedy, has had its release date pushed back due to the spreading coronavirus infections around the globe.
The film stars Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, and movie enthusiasts can only imagine what’s in store for them knowing just how hilarious the actor can be.
The release date for ‘Free Guy’ has been moved from July to December 2020, a development that should come as no surprise given the many postponements, cancelations and shifted timelines of Hollywood productions, no thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Studios like Disney, Warner Bros., Sony and Universal have all delayed releases of their films as theaters remain shut down.
Following the decision of ‘Free Guy’ getting a new release date, Reynolds shared a clip from the movie on his Twitter handle.
Once again, the plot revolves around Reynolds’ character living in an open-world video game. He soon realizes that his life is all part of the game armed with this knowledge, Guy (yep, that’s his name) starts to act like the hero ass he makes an attempt to save the video game called ‘Free City’ from being shut down by its developers.
See the video clip below:
Free Guy is moving to Dec. 11. Here's a clip that's weirdly appropriate and isn’t actually finished. We cut it a while ago (while there was still a “Fox” before @20thcentury). Ignore the watermarks. And huge thanks to #Aspect for cutting it. pic.twitter.com/aJDqaGIFvT
