Disney’s upcoming blockbuster has been moved from summer 2020 to 2021 following the COVID-19 outbreak, and now the wrestler-turned-actor says it’s worth the wait.
This past week saw Disney reshuffle almost all of its major releases for the rest of the year, including ‘Jungle Cruise’ whose original date was July 24, 2020.
Weighing in the film’s recent delay, Dwayne Johnson posted a video on Instagram where he explained the reason behind the decision, stating the importance of getting Disney parks and cruise lines back up and running.
The actor also talked about the company’s full slate with its Fox films and the MCU, reassuring fans that about still being excited about it.
He said, “The movie will be worth the wait.”

Our @disneystudios JUNGLE CRUISE is officially pushed by one year to be released JULY 30, 2021. I feel great and bullish about this date as it gives us time for Disney to be fully operational in all their businesses – theme parks, hotels, cruise ships, but more importantly, it gives the world time to bounce back to living confidently, productively and joyously once again. Thank you, Disney leadership team. And thank you to all the fans worldwide. The movie will be worth the wait. Stay healthy, my friends. D @sevenbucksprod @flynnpictureco #junglecruise #summer 2021
