Joelle Joanie ‘JoJo’ Siwa has been cast in the starring role of Bounce, an upcoming comedy to be produced by Will Smith for Paramount Pictures.
JoJo Siwa is an American actress, dancer, singer, and YouTube personality known for appearing on the two seasons of Dance Moms with her mother, Jessalynn Siwa.
Her big break came with her debut single Boomerang and she currently has 11.4 million subscribers on YouTube. She had a role in the animated movie The Angry Birds Movie 2.
According to Variety, actor Will Smith and James Lassiter will produce Bounce through their Overbrook Entertainment banner, alongside Caleb Pinkett.
Based on the book by Megan Shull, Bounce is the heartwarming tale of a teenage girl who wishes she could trade her family for a new one on Christmas Eve.
She gets her wish and finds herself “bouncing” into the lives of other girls and living Christmas Day on repeat – learning the value of family, finding her voice, and the power of love.
The script will be penned by Josann McGibbon, and Paramount is reportedly searching for a director.
