A pair of animated movies based on the popular Miraculous series will be made for Disney’s streaming platform.

According to Variety, the two movie projects are titled Miraculous World: New York – United HeroeZ and Miraculous World: Shanghai – Lady Dragon, and they have been acquired by Disney Plus for global premiere rights outside Brazil and China.

The 3D-CGI-animated TV films will be directed by Thomas Astruc, the force behind the series’ global success in over 120 regions.

The award-winning series follows the adventures of two seemingly typical teens who magically transform themselves into superheroes to fight evil in Paris.

Futha Mucka is created and executive produced by Jim and Brian Kehoe who also serve as showrunners. It will be created by the animation production company Titmouse.

Robert Matthew Van Winkle a.k.a. Vanilla Ice will be portrayed by actor Dave Franco in a biopic.
