Written and directed by Brian Duffield, Spontaneous is an upcoming science-fiction comedy starring Katherine Langford, Charlie Plummer, Hayley Law, Piper Perabo, and Yvonne Orji.

Langford leads the cast as a girl who is so weird she literally bites the hand of a boy who puts his arm around her. Just when she looks to be almost killed by boring school life, an incident happens which changes her reality, bringing her closer to Plummer’s character.

Official plot details haven’t been released as at the time of writing this but from the clip, one of the students of the school suddenly “explodes” and the rest are quarantined as investigations begin.

What makes the movie appealing is that while it deals with something as serious as a possible disease outbreak, its outrageous humor and the chemistry between the two leads makes it unique and different.

Langford, it seems, is adept at comedy as moments of her in funny and bizarre shots make one wonder just how silly this film dares to be.

Those expecting something fresh from The New Mutants may have their hopes dashed…

Based on the world of the X-Men, the forthcoming movie centers on a group of youngsters with abilities who are confined in a secret facility.

One way or another, the mutants will have to escape as they find out that dark and sinister forces are involved in their stay at the place.

The first review for The New Mutants has arrived, and it is not encouraging.

Coming from THR, the review says the Josh Boone flick is “generic” and “eye-rolling”, with film critic Jordan Mintzer writing:

“Generic and, at its best, straining to be heartfelt, director Josh Boone’s adaptation of the Marvel spin-off comic series is a Marvel movie spinoff in its own right, making vague references to the X-Men franchise but attempting to stand on its own. Unfortunately, it rarely does.”

Personally, one review isn’t enough to stop me from seeing the movie as it is the writer’s perspective. However, fans should keep the review in mind so as not to expect too much and end up being disappointed.
