Those who enjoyed Inside Out, the animated film from Pixar, should look forward to Soul, the upcoming computer-animated fantasy adventure comedy movie from the same studio.
Soul is produced by Pixar Animation for Walt Disney Pictures and is directed by Peter Docter. The just-released trailer shows us the character of Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), a middle school music teacher whose dream is performing jazz music onstage.
Joe’s life takes an unexpected turn when an accident results in his soul (yes, you got that right) getting separated from his body and transported to a center where souls develop and gain passions before being put in a newborn child.
The protagonist must work with other souls in training in order to return to the world of the living before it is too late.
For an animated movie, Soul sure has a mature theme and should appeal to movie lovers of all ages.
Scheduled to be released on June 19, 2020, it co-stars Tina Fey and Daveed Diggs.
