Henry Cavill plays the protagonist in THE WITCHER

The world of swords, monsters, and sorcery will return soon as filming for the second season of The Witcher is set to commence this month.

Prior to its release, The Witcher was one of the most hyped series on Netflix as its source material was popular, with a video game adaptation adding to its overall appeal.

When it premiered, it got mixed reviews but it seems to have resonated well with fans as lead actor Henry Cavill didn’t disappoint as the muscular mutant whose quest finally leads him to a lost princess.

Reports have confirmed that production is expected to start soon as principal photography will begin this February in England, before moving on to Scotland and Eastern Europe.

The first season filmed mostly in Spain, Hungary, and the Canary Islands and we have also learned that a new actor has joined the series.

Carmel Laniado will reportedly play the role of Violet, a young girl whose playful and whimsical demeanor hides a far smarter and sadistic character. She will be in at least three episodes.

Not much is known about the plot but the showrunners have said that the story will not be as confusing as last time, with a straightforward plot being employed.

The Witcher season 2 will premiere on Netflix in late Fall this year.
