This is the lowest point since 1915 when it traded at 40 cents.

In contrast, Brent crude is trading at $26.36.

The Price crash is the latest indication of the depth of the crisis hitting the oil sector.

Lockdowns imposed in many of the world’s major economies have sent crude demand tumbling by as much as a third.

US President, Donald Trump, has been proactive in protecting the country’s oil industry and has even backed move by OPEC and Russia to cut production.
