The Nigeria Centre of Disease Control disclosed this in its situation report on Monday May 18th.

According to the data provided, Lagos has tested the highest number of persons with 14,886 samples tested, followed by the FCT and Kano with 4,688 and 2,653 samples tested, respectively.

The agency revealed that 35,983 tests have been carried out in the country with Kogi and Cross River state having the lowest test.

The two states (Kogi and Cross River) have not recorded any COVID0-19 case.

The Kogi state government has however claimed that it is testing ‘independently’ with the testing kits it bought but following the NCDC guidelines.

“Kogi State got testing kits independently but followed NCDC guidelines. One hundred and eleven COVID-19 rapid tests were conducted in Kogi State yesterday and all results came out negative,” the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo said.
