The Federal Government has placed travel ban on 13 countries to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus
The decision was reached at the meeting of the Presidential task force on COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The countries are those that have recorded over 1,000 cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic among which are the United states and Italy.
The Ban will take effect from Saturday, March 21, 2020.
Other countries on the travel ban list include China, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, Norway, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Switzerland.
The Federal Government also suspended the issuance of visa on arrival to travellers from these countries.
It was also stated that all travellers returning from these countries prior to the restriction will be in supervised self-isolation, monitored by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and port authorities.
