Three Chinese nationals were reportedly kidnapped at a mining site in the Ijoka area of Osun state by some unidentified gunmen.
According to reports, the suspected kidnappers got to the site in the afternoon of Monday, November 25, and began shooting at the policemen on duty to provide security for the Chinese workers.
The kidnappers had killed a policeman before abducting the three Chinese men.
One of the Chinese personnel who had attempted to escape had been shot at and injured and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
The police commissioner in the state, Abiodun Ige, confirmed the incident and has already led a police team to the scene , he also said efforts are being made to rescue the Chinese and arrest the kidnappers.
