11-year-old boy identified as’ Mohammed Ya’u‘ has been rescued by the Nigerian Police Force in Anambra after being reportedly kidnapped and sold for N 200,000 in Kano.
According to reports, the police had found the boy five years after he had been abducted from Kano state.
Abdullahi Haruna, spokesperson for Kano State Police Command confirmed the incident saying that mohammed had been kidnapped in 2014 at PRP quarters in Kano metropolis by Paul Onwe and his wife, Mercy who had sold him to one Ebere Ogodo for N 200,000.
Abdullahi revealed that the three culprits were under investigation and that efforts to rescue other kidnapped victims is under construction.
“The Command is using this medium to thank the good people of the state for their support, patience and efforts in fighting all forms of crime and criminality in the state,” he added.
