Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman arrive Monday Night Raw

The excitement was palpable in this episode of WWE Monday Night Raw as there were unexpected guests and unlikely alliances.

Kicking off the show was none other than Brock Lesnar himself, accompanied by his spokesman, Paul Heyman. The newly-crowned WWE Heavyweight Champion came looking for Rey Mysterio and he was in the foulest mood possible, manhandling a few persons as he went searching for the pint-sized superstar.

Even commentator, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler wasn’t spared as Heyman threatened to unleash The Beast. The Hall of Famer was saved by his co-commentator who stood up to Lesnar and ended up getting smashed across the announce table.

Mysterio eventually showed up, bat in hand, and didn’t waste time assaulting the much bigger wrestler and for once, the smaller man stood taller as his vanquished opponent was left lying in a heap.

Seth Rollins showed up, not wearing his usual outfit and confessed that he didn’t know what was next for him after losing the WWE Universal title to Bray Wyatt’s ‘The Fiend’ at WWE Crown Jewel. Triple H made his entrance and got him an NXT Championship title match (what the hell?!) that would take place later that same night.

The Rusev/Bobby Lashley/Lana triangle has become an unpredictably dull act but things got a little interesting when the duo of Lashley and Lana brought the towering Drew McIntyre to fight Rusev.
