The United Kingdom has reacted to the killing of Lawan Andimi, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Michika Local Government in Adamawa state by the Boko Haram sect on Tuesday.
Odunews.com reports that Rev. Lawan Andimi was beheaded by the terrorist group on Monday after weeks of being held captive by the dreadful sect.
Reacting to the tragic incident via twitter, the Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria, Gill Atkinson said , “Terrible to read the news of the execution of Pastor Rev Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram.
“I utterly condemn such an awful crime and offer my deepest sympathy to his family and congregation,”
Andimi was abducted by Boko Haram when they attacked Michika on January.
Rev. Andimi some few weeks back appeared in a video released by Boko Haram, wherein he pleaded with the authorities to secure his release.
Michaka and some other areas in North-eastern Nigeria has been repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram.
