Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says that travelling to and fro the state would be stopped from 12:00 am on Sunday.
Abiodun stated that both Inter-State and international borders will be closed on Sunday so as to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
He made this known via a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle.
Abiodun noted that the “directive which affects the border shared with the Republic of Benin and translates to a ban on inbound and outbound movements altogether, excludes vehicles conveying personnel offering essential services in health, security and food”.
The Governor further stated that the restriction is part of its measures to “reduce the importation of the COVID-19 into the State from neighbouring states and country, including all states in the southwest, especially Lagos which is understandably the epicentre of the pandemic in the country, being a host of major air as sea ports”.

89 cases o Coronavirus have so far been confirmed in the country with three of those from Ogun state.
