The Federal Government says it will release 6.5 billion naira to the National Centre for Disease Control to aid the fight against Coronavirus.
This is according to a statement by Mr Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Mr Ahmad, the move which was confirmed by Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, is to aid in the fight to curb the spread of the #COVID19 in the country.
The number of confirmed cases has risen to 51 with two persons discharged and one death recorded.
Four of the latest five cases are from Lagos and Abuja with Rivers State recording its first case of the pandemic.
According to the NCDC, three are returning travellers into Nigeria and two are close contacts of a confirmed case.
