The NBA has suspended the current 2019-20 season after Rudy Gobert, an All-Star player tested positive for the coronavirus.
The league released a statement in which it made the announcement:
“The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COV-19.”
According to reports, the player has been in the game for seven years and sat out the last one due to illness. That game was canceled.
“The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
The spread of coronavirus continues to affect events and TV shows, with over 1,000 cases reported in the US. Shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race have delayed production on forthcoming seasons, and The Tonight Show and Jeopardy! have begun shooting without a live audience.
Also, Riverdale has temporarily halted production after a member of the crew came in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
