99, 400 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Africa since the outbreak of the disease in the continent, WHO regional office in Africa says.

The World Health Organisation disclosed this through its twittter handle on Friday.
The agency also stated that 3,078 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded while 39,000 people have recovered from the virus.
“Over 99,400 confirmed COVID-19 cases on the African continent – with more than 39,000 recoveries and 3,078 deaths,” the tweet reads.

The WHO African Region COVID-19 dashboard showed that South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco have continued to top the list of highest COVID-19 reported cases on the continent.
Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases exceeded 7,000 on Thursday with the death toll standing at 211.
