The Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar, has been hospitalized over suspected COVID-19 case.
The Emir was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit of the Federal Medical Centre in Katsina state.
Sources told The Nation that the monarch was rushed to the hospital after suffering from high blood pressure.
According to the source, Mr Umar was unconscious at the time he was whisked into the hospital.
“It’s true the Emir of Daura was rushed to FMC for high blood pressure, he was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital yesterday night. Some people thought he had passed on,” the source said.
Recall that Governor Aminu Bello Masari had sealed the emir’s palace to control the spread of coronavirus.
