The Imo House of Assembly has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic as 14 members have tested positive for the virus.
According to the latest reports, one member tested positive last week, leading to the closure of the assembly.
The 13 new cases were confirmed by the Spokesman for the State Task Force on COVID-19, Chinedu Iwuala.
Speaking to Channels TV, Iwuala said that the infected lawmakers have gone into self-isolation.
After the first was diagnosed with the dreaded ailment, the Assembly Complex in Owerri had to be shut down.
The assembly will now remain shut down indefinitely.
