Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, on Tuesday, met with the Senate President Ahmad Lawan over issues surrounding the planned employment of 774,000 Nigerians.
An earlier meeting between the Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Festus Keyamo and lawmakers had gone sour after some disagreements ensued between the two parties.
Vanguard reports that Ngige apologised for Keyamo’s actions at the meeting with the Senate President.
Mr Ngige urged the lawmakers to put the wrong aside so as to allow them work together.
The National Assembly had last week asked the President General Muhammadu Buhari, to suspend the programme, following a face-off between Mr Keyamo and the joint panel of the two chambers of the federal parliament.
