President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday had a meeting with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential villa.
Jonathan arrived at Aso Rock about 11 am and proceeded straight to President Buhari’s office.

“Today I received a comprehensive report from the ECOWAS Special Envoy to Mali, former President @GEJonathan, on the political situation in the country. Regarding the way forward, we will ask the President of Niger, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS, to brief us as a group,” President Buhari tweeted.

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, had recently appointed Dr. Jonathan to head the political reconciliation in Mali where there is leadership tussle.
The Jonathan – led committee had recommended the government of national unity in the country but the opposition group had turned down the recommendation.
