Former Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has hailed the Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalle, for initiating various policies and for the development of the state.
Among the recent policies of the governor is the Rural Grazing Areas (RUGA) project staunchly criticised by the former Minister. Mr Matawalle had initiated the establishment of RUGA- one in each of the three Senatorial zones of the state.
Fani Kayode is among many Nigerians who criticised the Federal Government for proposing the RUGA project.
Reacting after being conferred with the traditional title of “Sadaukin Shinkafi” by Shinkafi Emirate Council in Zamfara, Mr Fani-Kayode, at a news briefing in Gusau, lauded the administration for initiating policies to promote peace in the state.
He said: “I am highly impressed with this title given to me as one of the heroes of Shinkafi emirate.
“I commend the present administration led by Gov. Bello Matawalle for promoting peace and stability in the state,” he said.
The former minister said the PDP led administration deserved commendation for initiating various policies and programmes for the development of the state.
“I came to Zamfara for bridge building. I went round the state, I am impressed with the peace been restored and various infrastructural development,” he added.
He urged people of the state to continue to support Mr Matawalle for peace and stability and socio-economic development in the state.
