The House of Representatives says it would sue Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpbaio, over allegations he made that lawmakers were awarded contracts in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Speaker of the House, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who made the disclosure at the commencement of plenary on Thursday said the decision was sequel to the failure of the Minister to publish names of members of the National Assembly who were beneficiaries of contracts in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Akpabio had alleged that 60% of the NDDC contracts awarded by the commission went to federal lawmakers.
Thereafter on Tuesday, Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house, gave the minister 48 hours to name the lawmakers or face “the wrath of the house”.
