Criticize Buhari Again And Be Crucified, Islamic Cleric Dares Kukah

An Islamic cleric, Abubakar Malami, has threatened to crucify Matthew Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto State, should the latter criticize the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Malami who is based in the state was said to have issued the threat during a sermon, according to Sahara Reporters which translated the words of the angry preacher who spoke in Hausa to English.

Mr. Kukah in his 2020 Christmas message criticized the federal government led by Buhari, saying the Nigerian leader was institutionalizing nepotism over competence.

These comments backed by the Catholic Church angered Muslim groups including the Muslims Solidarity Forum (MSF) who ordered him to apologize or leave the state quietly.

The ultimatum has been condemned by Nigerians, including the presidency which cautioned the Bishop on further criticizing the president.

“Not even the government will be able to stop us,” Malami reportedly said while threatening to unleashed mayhem should Kukah continue to attack the incumbent government re-elected in 2019.

“Matthew Hassan Kukah is already cursed by Allah. Therefore, if Kukah challenges the government, he will be crucified. We will not listen to anybody when we are crucifying him, not the government, not even the Sultan of Sokoto,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has warned that nothing must happen to the Sokoto Bishop or hell will let loose in the country.
