The Federal High Court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital has ruled that former President Goodluck Jonathan is free to contest for any elective post.
The presiding judge, Justice Isa Hamma Dashen gave the judgement on Friday.
He also held that Jonathan’s right to vie for the office of president again cannot be stopped by any retroactive law.
The former President has been tipped to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari after he was offered the presidential form of the ruling All Progressives Congress by a northern group.
Goodluck Jonathan however faces an arduous task in securing the party’s primary ticket as bigwigs like the National leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ex-Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi among a host of others.
