Oriyomi Hamzat, an Ibadan-based radio broadcaster and owner of Agidigbo FM, who was arrested by the Police on Thursday has been freed.
Odunews.com had earlier reported how the broadcaster was arrested and whisked to Abuja by officers of the Nigerian police.
One of his staff said confirmed the news of his release on Friday morning.
“Oga will reunite with us today. He will Ibadan from Abuja any moment from now,” the staff said.
Oriyomi was yesterday reported having been invited, arrested without anybody knowing his offence.
He said he was arrested in connection to his continued reportage of the death of Timothy, a master’s student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, at one of the hotels belonging to the Maye of Ife, Ramon Adedoyin.
The police, in its reaction to Hamzat’s ordeal, said the broadcaster was arrested in connection with what it called cyberbullying.
