Moghalu who contested under the African Democracy Congress for the 2019 presidential election said every Nigerian has the right to vote for any candidate of their choice, hence should not be insulted on social media.

The social media space has been marred with a barrage of insults and bullying from supporters of different presidential candidates. Foremost among such are the ‘Obidients’ who are supporters of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Social media influencers like Reno Omokri, Deji Adeyanju, among others, have at different times accused Obi’s fans, ’Obidients’ of bullying whoever opposes the presidential candidate on social media.

Femi Kuti has also called out supporters of Obi after they threatened to burn down the famous African shrine in Lagos.

According to Moghalu, the politicians, despite party alliance, dine with each other.

On his Twitter page, Moghalu wrote: “I believe it is important, no matter who anyone supports or will end up voting for in 2023, to be tolerant and respectful of ALL candidates. Please debate ideas, visions (if and where they exist), experience and track record, and avoid personalized insults.

“Intolerance, on/off social media, is wrong. The politicians you are fighting and killing each other for wine and dine with each other across party lines.

“Be wise! Nigerians reserve the right to vote for any candidate of their choice in a democracy. Just make informed choices.”
