Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has called on the electorate to give him the opportunity to create a new Nigeria where everyone has equal opportunities.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Obi made this statement during a rally in Maiduguri, where he emphasized that previous parties had failed and that it was time for the Labour Party to step in and bring about the change that is needed. He acknowledged the security challenges in Borno and other parts of Nigeria, promising that his administration would work to restore hope and ensure that no Nigerian would have to live in a displaced persons’ camp.

Obi highlighted the potential for agriculture and education in Borno, and pledged to harness these resources to generate billions of naira annually.

Additionally, the vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmad, praised Obi’s past accomplishments as a governor, noting that he did not borrow money to work for his state.

Aisha Yesufu, an activist and member of the party, urged Nigerians to take the 2023 election seriously and vote for the Labour Party due to their people-oriented programs.

Ibrahim Mshelia, the Borno LP governorship candidate, also urged voters to choose LP in order to restore the state and nation’s lost glory.

Finally, Obi also visited the southern part of the state, the Shehu of Borno’s Palace and held meetings with youth and women groups before leaving.
