The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as the party with the highest number of votes in Osun State during the presidential election held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer for Osun State, Professor Folasade Ogunsola. The announcement was made on Sunday at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo.

Professor Ogunsola, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, disclosed that the PDP polled 354,366 votes to lead the pack, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) coming second with 343,945 votes. The Labour Party came a distant third with 23,283 votes.

The result of the election will be transmitted to the INEC National Collation Centre in Abuja in line with the Electoral Act. The breakdown of the election results for Osun State is as follows:

  • Accredited voters: 759,362
  • Valid votes: 733,203
  • Invalid votes: 23,541
  • Total vote cast: 756,744
