Aviation Workers Protest, Block Roads Leading To Lagos Airport

Aviation workers began their warning strike on Monday blocking access roads to the Muritala Muhammed airport in Lagos.

The situation has led to serious gridlock along Airport Road in the Ikeja axis of Lagos, with the entrance of the Murtala Muhammed Airports Terminal Two (MMA2) being mostly affected.

However, airlines’ flight operations are still going on as scheduled.

Last week, aviation unions announced plans to embark on a warning strike over the failure of the federal government to meet their demands for minimum wage and other sundry issues.

The unions involved are the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), and the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP).
