Mrs. Jumoke Akindele-Ajulo, the first female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly in Nigeria, has given birth to a baby at the age of 54.
Akindele, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, served in the Assembly from 2011 to 2019 and became Speaker in 2014 before being removed from the position in 2017. She represented the Okitipupa State Constituency 1 during her time in the Assembly.
News of Akindele’s newborn baby spread on social media, with friends and political associates offering their congratulations. Segun Odidi, one of her associates, posted on his Facebook page:
“What God cannot do doesn’t exist. First Female Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly delivered a bouncing baby on Saturday. Her first fruit!! What a cheering news! I’m so happy for you, big sis. Congratulations Rt. Hon Jumoke Akindele.”
