Anambra state candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme, who stands accused by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) of falsifying her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, asserted her innocence on Monday, vehemently denying the claims of forgery.
Ejikeme made her statements in a video obtained by our correspondent in Abuja, staunchly insisting that she had not manipulated her UTME results as suggested by the examination board.
JAMB previously reported that Ejikeme inflated her UTME score from 249 to 362, which subsequently facilitated her receipt of a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. The Anambra state government was also planning to honour Ejikeme before the allegations surfaced, exposing the supposed discrepancy in her results.
Ejikeme, in her video, stated, “I’m the owner of this result. I went to the JAMB portal to print this result and this is the result they gave me. This is my aggregate, 362.”
She then claimed that when the QR code on her results was scanned, it displayed a Yoruba name — Omotola Afolabi — who scored 138, which later increased to 338 upon rechecking. She used this inconsistency as evidence of systemic issues within JAMB’s processes.
“I’m not capable of forging my result,” she added, expressing her distress over the allegations and accusing both JAMB and the Department of State Services (DSS) of prematurely concluding that she had forged her results without conducting a proper investigation.
The girl accused by JAMB has told her side of the story. We have to get to the bottom of this story. JAMB made a weighty allegation. Please grant Ejikeme Mmesoma the audience to set the record straight@ARISEtv @OjyOkpe @ayomairoese @ruffydfire @abati1990 pic.twitter.com/50dsVdtNaS
