Pastor Adeboye Celebrates Divine Survival and Faith at 82nd Birthday

The head of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, recently expressed his gratitude for being alive, attributing his survival to divine grace. This revelation was made at the Redemption Camp, located off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun, during his 82nd birthday celebrations, attended by numerous church members.

Sharing a harrowing experience from years past, Adeboye recounted how divine intervention saved him from a potentially fatal situation. He recalled a story told by his previous driver about multiple near-death experiences he and his wife survived while traveling to Ilorin, Kwara. The most alarming incident involved their car narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming truck on a slim road next to a bridge, with a river below.

Adeboye described the miraculous manner in which they avoided the accident, leaving him and his driver in shock. His driver’s continuous exclamation of “wonderful” during the journey to Ilorin underscored the miraculous nature of their survival. “That I’m alive today is because His name is called wonderful,” Adeboye affirmed, extending a prayer for divine wonder in the lives of his followers.

Expressing gratitude towards his congregation for the birthday celebrations, Adeboye blessed them with longevity and aspirations to achieve greatness beyond his accomplishments. He also marked the occasion by celebrating the 38th anniversary of the church’s monthly Special Holy Ghost Service, acknowledging the impact of the program on many lives.

In his sermon, which focused on the theme “On Eagles Wings” and referenced Exodus Chapter 19, Adeboye highlighted the transformative power of divine recognition, which can elevate individuals from obscurity to prominence. He emphasized the necessity of faith and purity for receiving God’s blessings and assured that God would respond to the supplications of the faithful, uplifting them and providing complete liberation, as experienced by the Israelites.
